A smiling sentinel, who refused to give his name or his employer, guarded the door to the small room, trying to obscure what was occurring inside.
The young man, who obviously worked for the luminary within, only stepped aside when Democratic legislative leaders trudged down the hallway and entered the inner sanctum for an audience.
In the hallway, a gaggle of reporters waited, frustrated and amused at the spectacle of supposedly powerful lawmakers having to be granted entrance in their own...
Remember during Danny Tarkanian's congressional run how that $17 million judgment became an issue. Tarkanian vowed that the judgment against himself and family members, including the legendary coach, would not be paid because they would appeal and prove they were the ones defrauded.
This week, though, in several court filings in Nevada, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation has moved to collect the debt, and a court has issued orders demanding payment, garnishing the family's wages and...
The good news for Nevada Democrats is that The Hotline mentioned the patient dumping scandal today when talking about Gov. Brian Sandoval.
The bad news for Nevada Democrats is that The Hotline mentioned it while wondering why Sandoval and New Mexico's Susana Martinez are not inlcuded in governors talked about as possible 2016 White House contenders.

Fujinaga's company is the subject of a Jpanese probe and that country's financial regulators are seeking cooperation from their U.S. counterparts. The Japan News was in Las Vegas this...
Premium subscribers to this site have already seen a memo prepared by White Pine County as the resolution to remove mining taxation from the Consttitution comes up for a vote.
Now, the county's community and economic development boss, Jim Garza, has sent the memo with a cover letter to legislative leaders.
Could it scuttle SJR 15? We'll know soon.
I've attached it here.
I have already detailed millions in property tax breaks that parcels, mostly casino-resorts, are reaping from a property tax cap that has outlived its usefulness.
There are other breaks, too, that gamers and others are taking advantage of, these ones by building those Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design buildings. It's a lot of money, records show:
Ventian/Palazzo multiple projetcs: $3.1 million
City Center: multiple projects: $2.8 million
Caesars Entertianment: $200,000
Molasky...
