NV Energy asks for lowest rate increase in 13 years

I've confirmed that NV Energy today will ask for its lowest general rate increase since 2001.

The overall increase sought from the Public Utilities Commission is .9 percent, resulting in a 1.9 percent residential monthly increase. The total amount is just under $21 million.

This is a dramatic change from 2011, when the company asked for a $250 million general rate increase, or 15 percent on everyone.

If approved, the new rates would take effect Jan.1

I hope to have Warren Buffett on "Ralston Reports" before that date....
