Lowden files FEC report showing no progress on debt

Lieutenant governor hopeful Sue Lowden has filed a "no activity" report with her still-unresolved U.S. Senate campaign from 2010, indicating she has not paid any of the $600,000 debt she owes.

The form, attached here, is required because her campaign committee cannot be closed until the Federal Election Commission accepts a debt settlement plan she submitted weeks ago. But nothing prevents her from paying off her creditors, something she has chosen not to do as she runs for lieutenant governor and puts in six figures of her own money.

As you can see, the $632,141.56 total is the same as it was in January.

UPDATE: Lowden spokesman Tom Letizia says she "has been instructed by her attorneys to 'not make any unauthorized payments' until the plan is approved."

So she can't pay her creditors even if she wanted to? Really?
