Flores assembles national team for LG's race

The roster looks as if it has been gathered to play in a U.S. Senate race.

Democratic Assemblywoman Lucy Flores, who announces her lieutenant governor candidacy later today, has put together a roster of talent that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid would be proud to have. And that's no coincidence since Reid believes Flores becoming lieutenant governor would prevent a second-term Gov. Brian Sandoval from leaving his job to challenge him in 2016.

Sen. Cory Booker's campaign manager. A nationally known pollster. Reid's 2010 campaign manager.

For an LG's race.

Get the picture?

Here's the team:

Pollster Geoff Garin, who already has done work for Flores, is on board.

Brandon Hall, who ran Reid's near-perfect 2010 campaign, and McKenna/Pihlaja, which is aligned with EMILY's List, a group that will play in this contest, will do the media.

Addissu Demissie, an Obama campaign hand who ran Booker's campaign, is the acting manager until Flores finds a permanent overseer.

James Aldrete an Austin-based pol, will be her general consultant, and Parker Butterworth, who works for a boutique Washington StateĀ consulting firm, is her finance director.

Flores has national connections. But Team Reid's fingerprints are all over this.
