Erquiaga still the favorite for state supe

I said from the beginning that Dale Erquiaga, who has been a close adviser to secretaries of state and governors, was the favorite to become the next state superintendent as soon as he applied.

Erquiaga, unlike the cashiered James Guthrie, would be sure to carry out Gov. Brian Sandoval's agenda. They go way back, and Erquiaga was a key cog in the first half of Gov. Sunny's first term.

And now, reports the Sun's Paul Takahashi, Erquaiaga has made the finals. It's the governor's pick now. My prediction stands.
