Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has informed the Federal Election Commission that buying gifts for supporters from his granddaughter fits within the agency's rules.. I missed the document when it was filed a month ago, but there's no mention in it of Reid reimbursing his campaign for the expenditures, which I disclosed on March 25. That same day, according to FEC records, attorney Marc Elias wrote to the FEC, saying the gifts comport with agency rules. The section cited is this one: Gifts of...
Rep. Steven Horsford has asked Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie to look into persistent reports of militia members supporting Cliven Bundy making Bunkerville residents "feel unsafe." Horsford penned a letter this weekend to the sheriff, outlining various concerns by residents he first disclosed last week. The letter is attached.
Time to get the name rec up in the sheriff's race and ensure the man with the money gets through the primary.
Imagine hearing these words come out of the mouth of Sen. Dean Heller, who has called Cliven Bundy’s supporters “patriots” and who did not utter a critical word about the famous rancher until he began declaiming about the history of the “Negro” in America: “Let me first say that I do not support those who do not comply with the law. Mr. Bundy has not paid grazing fees in over 20 years, and that is unacceptable, particularly considering the number of ranchers in Nevada who hold permits and pay...
So Waddie Mitchell, Nevada's honorary sesquicentennial poet, wrote a poem that might as well have been called "Ode to Cliven." I have a response.
Most of the 206 med pot applicants in Clark County are LLCs. That won't help them hide investors, if Clark County has its way. Here's what has been sent to applicants: MEDICAL MARIJUANA ESTABLISHMENT OWNERSHIP/APPLICANT DISCLOSURE FORM You may have submitted information regarding the ownership of the applicant for a medical marijuana application. However, Clark County Business License requires the disclosure of each individual owner of every business entity with...
Erin Bilbray has been in the CD3 race for months. But as she celebrates her "campaign kickoff" Friday with a new headquarters, the Congressional Leadership Fund Super PAC is welcoming her to the race with some folks you may recognize:
During an interview this morning on KNPR, Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie said Cliven Bundy is a "very principled man in regard to his beliefs," but said the BLM "was within their bounds to do what they were doing." Gillespie said he has had several "interactions" during his years in law enforcement with Bundy. But while he expressed some sympathy for Bundy's attitude toward the BLM, the sheriff said: "There's a federal court order. He lost in court...I made it very clear that he needs to...
You knew this was coming. Led by Assemblyman Jim "I might bring back slavery" Wheeler, Michele Fiore (of course), Don Gustavson, John Ellison and Ira Hansen are calling for a probe of the "armed incursion" by the BLM. By the way, Wheeler is the same guy who thinks Clark County should be a separate state. Check out the questions about whether elected officials or "interests outside government" were involved. Your elected officials at work: JIM WHEELER ASSEMBLYMAN District No....
