For those wondering, Repubs had about a 1,000-voter lead on Election Day last year, and Biden won Washoe by nearly 5 points.

No wonder the state Republican Party can't afford a political director anymore:
Federal Election Commission records show the GOP has $8,590 on hand. (The state account won't be reported until next year thanks to Nevada's lax disclosure laws.)
The Democratic Party's federal account, as I informed premium subscribers Sunday, has has not done much either, but at least has $68,000 on hand.
The difference: All the Democrats have to do is get Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to snap his fingers, and...
Welcome to the Weekly Report.
This week:
1. Some notes on FEC reports
2. The Weekly insiders rate the delegation during the shutdown, gauge N/S issues, look at AB 46’s aftermath and assess a Sandoval-Angle primary.
3. Nuggets on Team Bilbray, the Dem candidate for gov (!) and a congressman's trajectory….
1.Rate the performances of the delegation members on a scale of 1 to 10 during the shutdown, and explain your grade
2. Do you think North-South issues will be an issue in 2014 and 2015, or is...
TONIGHT'S RALSTON REPORTS: Obamacare in Nevada: What's happening?
DAYS UNTIL FILING FOR OFFICE OPENS IN 2014: 136
DAYS UNTIL PRIMARY ELECTION DAY 2014: 235
DAYS UNTIL GENERAL ELECTION DAY 2014: 382
Good morning, everyone. I’m not sure how many of you caught ex-Rep. Shelley Berkley on “Ralston Reports” last night (link below), but she was back to her old self: Combative, feisty, focused. It’s rare that I can keep my mouth shut for very...
TONIGHT'S RALSTON REPORTS: We'll see.

DAYS UNTIL GENERAL ELECTION DAY 2014: 383
Good morning, everyone. Now that the shutdown is over, the big question remains unanswered: Will the cable networks re-set their countdown clocks to 90 days and counting until the next crisis? And will they start using the music from the “24” clock to...
Good morning, everyone. So the final hearing on the Washoe schools tax bill was held last night, having been dumped in the Washoe County Commission’s lap, and the outlook is bleak. According to the Reno Gazette-Journal (I won’t bother with a link because you need to pay), the commission was chattering about going to the ballot. Of course that delays much-needed repairs that even foes say are needed. Is this any way to run a government?
Of all the buck-passing by a governor and Gang of 63, this...
LEAVE YOURS IN THE COMMENTS. MINE:
Gov. Brian Sandoval fakes his sunny smile in Israel with Tom Letizia, who is running the campaign for Sue Lowden against Sandoval's anointed choice for lieutenant governor, Mark Hutchison. Immediately after the photo, Sandoval turned to Letizia and said, "You are dead to me."
The idea of memorable 2010 Senate candidate Sharron Angle using Obamacare as a linchpin for a gubernatorial bid seems silly, right?
Beyond media salivation -- sorry for the noise, folks -- I'm not sure who else might be clamoring for such a primary matchup with Gov. Brian Sandoval, although I had two Republicans raise the possibility to me this week. Why?
Because Angle has been criticizing Sandoval for accommodating the health care law by expanding Medicaid and setting up an exchange, which...
Newly re-elected Chairman Michael McDonald's slogan is "UNIty," which may be easy to accomplish if you only have one person in the office.
I've confirmed that Jesse Law, the controversial political director and expert vote counter, no longer is being paid by the state party. That leaves only one paid employee in the office.
This was inevitable after the Establishment lost the chairmanship fight and after Gondolier Numero Uno Sheldon Adelson signaled he was holstering his checkbook so long as...
