On November 15, 2007, Las Vegas, NV hosted a presidential candidate debate, a first for Nevada. The Democratic candidates for the 2008 Presidential election squared off at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in a debate moderated by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. Seven candidates fought it out on stage: Senator Joe Biden (DE), Senator Hillary Clinton (NY), Senator Christopher Dodd (CT), former Senator John Edwards (NC), Representative Dennis Kucinich (OH), Governor Bill Richardson (NM), and Senator Barack Obama (IL). Frontrunners, Clinton and Obama were especially contentious during this debate, which covered issues from healthcare to immigration to trade to nuclear waste.
